Forgive me, people of the internet, I’m a naughty blogger. Going back through some old files recently, I realized how many great shoots I’ve missed out on blogging here. I’m no less excited to share these oldies and goodies with you, so stay tuned for more blasts from the past with me in the near future. Today I’m sharing Sunny and Derek’s sweet after-wedding shoot. Sunny and Derek had a sweet intimate church ceremony, and after their reception was over, Derek asked me to come to his parents’ house to get some portraits of he and his new bride. When we got there, this beauty was waiting for us in the driveway. Can you say photog’s dream?
I lost my grandmother two days before Sunny and Derek’s wedding, so I was a bit worried about my mental state going into the big day. Being a photographer, you really have to be mentally present for the moments you capture in order to do it well, and I always want to do the best I can for my clients. As soon as I arrived at the church, Sunny’s kind, calm and warm spirit washed over the room and I was immediately at ease. Sunny and Derek have a lot of people who love them, that’s for sure; and all that love was evident throughout their wedding day. It was therapeutic being around all that positive energy in the midst of all the grief I had been experiencing in the days prior.
It’s quite possible that many of my clients do more good for me than I could ever hope to do for them. Thank you, Derek and Sunny, I wish you a lifetime and beyond of happiness : )
