A big bridal party. Lots of gorgeous flowers. Loud music with big crowds dancing. Lots of posed pictures of the bride and groom. A big puffy white dress and a cathedral length veil.
These are all things I think about when I think about weddings. Almost every wedding I photograph has all of these things. And then occasionally I get the opportunity to do something deliciously different: Kristen and Rick’s wedding had none of those things.
Kristen and Rick had a beautiful intimate wedding at the amazing Table & Main in Roswell. (Seriously though, if you aren’t familiar with T&M, or you’ve never sampled their delicious offerings, you’re missing out on something very important in life.) Surrounded by about 25 family and friends, the two exchanged vows in the back room of the restaurant. After some mingling and cocktails, the room was flipped and a lovely multi-course dinner was served.
Kristen told me that the most important thing to her was that the images of the evening evoke the feelings of what it was like to be there that night. She didn’t want a lot of posed images (I have one posed picture of the bride and groom from the entire night), and she wanted me to focus on capturing little details that gave a sense of environment. I greatly enjoyed breaking out of the normal wedding routine and capturing such a beautiful wedding in such a wonderful place. Enjoy these images from Kristen and Rick’s big day.
